Challenge

Although potato is very efficient with water, the impacts of water restriction and high temperatures on potato production will continue to increase due to changing weather patterns and extension of production in drought prone areas.

Solution

Solynta’s breeding efforts aim to develop varieties that can grow in areas with less optimal water conditions. In combination with good agronomic practices, these varieties can be used to maintain current and develop future growing areas.
