At Solynta we grow new varieties of potatoes that are more resistant to diseases and drought. We think to have a solution for the shortage of food in the world. Instead of seed potatoes, we use the seed of the potato for this. This has many advantages. For example, seed is much lighter and therefore easier to transport. And seed stays good much longer if you want to store it.
Much of our work takes place in the greenhouse where the seeds grow into plants. When the plants are big enough, they go out into the field to continue growing there. There are also plants in the greenhouses for further research. We make special crossings here so that the plants can withstand certain conditions (potato) diseases and climate changes. The entire Solynta team is working hard on this and we are looking for colleagues to help us with this in the position of Greenhouse Technician. (24-40 hours p.w.)
Your main task is to take care of the plants by, for example, watering, sowing, pollinating, emasculating and all other activities that occur in the care and cultivation of the plants. Keeping records of this is indispensable. It's a job that requires you to move around a lot. You work in one of our greenhouses in Ressen and/or Gendt and your supervisor is the manager of the greenhouses.

- Like to work with the latest techniques and materials
- You have an advantage if you have experience working in a greenhouse, but that is not a requirement
