I am currently working as a Research Assistant at Solynta. This role marks an exciting next step in my career, combining both theory and hands on research something that suits me very well.
Over the past 5 years at Solynta, I have gained broad experience across multiple breeding and research cycles, including work in agronomy, laboratory settings, and controlled climate environments. I previously worked as a Climate Chamber Specialist, where my focus was strongly research oriented. In this role, I was responsible for managing and maintaining climate chambers, supporting experimental setups, and ensuring optimal conditions for research trials. This included close collaboration with researchers, executing experimental protocols, and collecting and processing data to support ongoing research.
Earlier in my career at Solynta, I started as a Greenhouse Technician, where I was responsible for a wide range of hands on greenhouse activities. These included sowing and potting plants, daily plant care, cleaning and maintaining greenhouse facilities, and supporting ongoing trials.
My daily work
In my daily work, I coordinate phytopathology trials in the greenhouse and additionally carry out bioassays in the laboratory. Alongside this, I have a coordinating role in the planning and organization of all FlexSeq requests, and I am currently responsible for managing the research panel.
Growing within Solynta
At Solynta, I have been given many opportunities to grow through different roles. The company also provided me with the space to explore my interests and develop myself further. Currently, I am following a training program in plant breeding at the HAS alongside my work, which allows me to continue strengthening both my knowledge and skills.
Working on the future of food
Working at Solynta has given me even more insight into what makes Solynta such a special company. We are truly working on the food of the future innovative, groundbreaking, and constantly evolving. You never know exactly what each project will bring, which makes the work both challenging and rewarding. Seeing tangible results and knowing I contributed to them gives me a great sense of satisfaction. It is truly special to be part of this.
