The Agronomy & Physiology research department investigates how plant development and yield can be optimized when cultivating potatoes from true seed rather than conventional seed tubers. We also explore ways to increase seed production and improve seed quality.
The project work will mainly involve managing and conducting a greenhouse trial focused on to insect pollination, collecting data, and analysing the results. Practical work may start as early as July. We are therefore looking for enthusiastic Plant Science students, or students from related HBO or WO study programmes, to support our research through a thesis or internship during the trial period.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, practically minded, and interested in conducting greenhouse trials, particularly with a focus on insect behaviour. The work may involve practical trial preparation, such as setting up experimental materials or assembling insect cages, in addition to data collection and analysis. In your motivation letter, please indicate your preferred start date and whether you are able to independently travel to the greenhouse location in Venhuizen. Supervision will be available on site during the work.
The duration of the internships is a minimum of 3, up to a maximum of 6 months.
